Dealing with being sick by playing Final Fantasy 7. Fun game but not so fun coughing up icky stuff.
First week of my job is over with. Funny how far some types of programming can be outside my area of expertise. Web applications have absolutely nothing to do with any of the CS classes I've taken, or any of the years I've spent mucking around with stuff. It's very good to take a job that teaches you things but I don't see any career for myself in this field, and web applications aren't exactly useful in everyday life. Still, it's a summer job, and I can be proud of my work.
Sick is really no fun. I can't go much of anywhere, and I'd had plans this weekend. >.<
Funny how much pleasure I derive, all of a sudden, from plowing through Orson Scott Card books (Seventh Son) and--gasp--staying up past 10:30 PM! Weird. *grins*
...I don't know how much I'll be around with this job, so it's going to be harder than usual to keep in touch. With that in mind... there's probably at least a few people who read my journal that I've fallen out of touch with, go ahead and say hi again and we can pick stuff back up. It's as good a time as any. I suck at falling out of contact...
Edit: Nearly forgot... This wonderful drag-and-drop European geography quiz, snagged from Fark, had me ashamed of myself for my country's sake...until I realised I live in the USA, where my average error of about 112 miles is way better than par.

I also stank on the Africa one. 809 miles. I got 38 of the countries right, but when I missed, oh boy I missed. It was always by something like 1800 miles.
The website has a huge selection of other Geography games, thanks for sharing!

I got pwned on Africa too. Got 595 miles average error and 60% correct on that one. Damn that one is brutal.
